KILLING FOR SCORES

I decided to make this piece based on the Fugees album “The Score.” Because the album cover reminded me of Mount Rushmore, I decided to have the three faces in the middle with a flag painted over their faces. I also changed the words on the piece to say “killing for scores” in reference to Abraham Lincoln‘s Gettysburg address, where he said, “four score and seven years ago” to represent how for years African-Americans have been killed, marginalized, and systematically oppressed in America.
