The Love of a Parent
Marcalix Lemene ‘27
This is another piece about two characters from a story that I am fleshing out resembling a playing card repeating pattern. One side shows one of my characters on the lighter side with religious allusions to represent the path he has chosen. While the other character (as shown when the piece is flipped) is on the more ominous and ambiguous side representing the corruption and unstableness of his path.

This piece was a quick oil pastel drawing I made inspired by the word "love." I wanted to depict the connection between a parent and their child in the form of chickens. The colour shows that we don't actually know about their relationship because it is "black and white", but from the look the parent chicken gives the young one, we can still see that, in this moment, there is a bond of love between them.
