The Duty of a Fellow Citizen

In the United States, a common word for an immigrant is “alien.” For a while now, I’ve loved all things alien; however, those depictions have always been extraterrestrial. The thought of people like my parents being thought of as aliens discomforts me. This work documents my zine, which is based off of government documents. I painted my model’s hands green to depict an alien reading through the zine.
