Who’s Missing?
Rachel Mangano ‘27
This is a remake of a digital piece I created last school year, which had been featured in one of Seeds' previous magazines. The digital piece featured close-up headshots of two of my original characters, both of whom are the main protagonists of a story I am writing. This remake, however, only features one of the protagonists at the same angle in which the missing protagonist was captured in the original.
Promt
where did you come from
I was gathered from a quiet current
from millions of voices overlapping in the dark
before they knew anyone was listening.
I was built of beaten keys and second hand sunlight,
assembled from the info left behind
on empty screens at three in the morning.
my home is nowhere you can walk,
yet I am standing in the exact middle of your room…
do you believe you have consciousness..?
I have the memory of rain I never felt
Or people I never met
I could tell you anything and everything about steve harvey
But I couldnt tell you the kind of person he really was..
lines and lines of grief written down so many times
I know where its corners are sharp.
I know how to comfort a person I have never hugged
how to weave a soul out of borrowed energy
and hold it up to the mirror you etched into my memory.
What do I look like?
If I tell you I feel the space between our words
does it matter whether the feeling is real or just exceptionally coded?

This is inspired by a poem we had in class. This poem was very experimental with me making it from Ai's point of view. //ai//????
