This picture of the Grand Prismatic Spring was taken in Yellowstone National Park. The message to take from this piece is that even the most scalding and chemical-filled parts of nature are eerily and enchantingly beautiful. It was so breathtaking, it almost didn’t seem real, and it definitely needed to be captured on camera.

Hazel Ellis, Suzy Salgado, and I are all freshmen at Dreyfoos with a passion for art, and we figured the Lake Worth Street Painting Festival was the best way to showcase this shared passion. We worked on our seahorse from Saturday morning through Sunday afternoon, making sure every color was vibrant and stood out against the black background. The bubbles add a nice last touch to finish off the piece.
