Birdie

Felicite Lehel ‘26

This work is about my twin sister, Birdie, and how our relationship as twins has affected our lives and outcomes. Although in the past we have been mixed up countless times, I have noticed a subtle decrease of this as we have grown. I wanted to represent this diversion through art as well as my love for her and her nickname.

Designing this was about, honoring and celebrating his accomplishments, through creativity and respect for his legacy. This is significant to me because it represents the strength that Africans have no matter the obstacle put in front of them. To see him in media be a monumental figure for many young African children makes his passing even more memorable and honoring the impact he made is important.
