ARACHNE

Amber Noble ‘26

ARACHNE was inspired by the Greek mythological character of the same name. Arachne was a talented weaver who was loved throughout the lands. Athena, growing jealous of her, challenged her to a weaving contest. Arachne's piece was more beautiful than Athena’s, and Athena became enraged, turning Arachne to a spider out of revenge.

I wrote this contrapuntal because I wanted to push myself with my writing, to make myself really think about the best wording and metaphor to complete it. I used the extended metaphor of sin that I'd like to leave up to the interpretation of the reader, in terms of what it means and if it's a metaphor at all or not.
