A Tote of Time and Tradition

My self-reflection sculpture is a tote bag that symbolizes my heritage, identity, and resilience. Built with chicken wire, denim, and my mom's old clothing and jewelry, it blends my personal history with intricate design. I incorporated cultural symbols, such as my middle name "Rani" in Hindi, a lotus made from wire, and braided handles inspired by Indian traditions. The studded bull on the denim reflects my zodiac sign, Taurus, representing determination and creativity. The golden thread from my great-grandparents' factory ties the piece together, making my tote a cultural reminder of my roots.
