Archie

It has been my goal to incorporate the illusion of perspective and a three-dimensional aspect into my newest piece. I used my dog as my model, Archie. I installed my piece close to the ground so that when you look down at it, it appears as though Archie is looking up at you. He’s also drawn life-size in scale so that the illusion is even more potent.

Rainbow Lens

I was inspired by my friend's new passion in photography. As someone who is now double majoring in a creative photography class, I decided that I would try to capture the beauty that many find in not only photos, but also the action of taking one. In order to take this photo, I decided to get in closer with my camera to clearly capture texture. I intentionally made the lens my focal point, not only putting the subject in the center of the photo, but also using the girl's fingers and bangs as leading lines to further draw viewers’ attention to the lens. I then edited the photo to only leave the lens of the camera in color, adjusting saturation and hue to further cause the colors to pop. This was intentional to further represent the message of the piece: there is beauty and consideration in the action of taking a photograph.
